July 6, 2002: Seth
In keeping with the traditional/untraditional theme I did with Train, here're versions of Seth. The one on the far left is how I'm drawing him right now. Sorta. I'm not at all satisfied with the way I drew this particular pose -- it is so not dynamic, which is something that I strive for in my chars, and his hands and legs are just not done right. Kinda awkward. But anyway, that's what he usually looks like and wears. I usually associate him with the color blue, BTW. Just in case you were wondering. I associate a lot of my chars with colors. Train is black, Danika (drawings of her to come) is golden & brown, Moon is purple and beige. The demons I have yet to think about it, but I do have some idea. For What Is, this sketch shows the two colors I attributed each char, because whenever I thought of them or drew them or colored them, these were the colors I often thought of. Back to Seth. The drawings on the right go with the theme of "so not Seth". (*grin*) The one on the far right is done "skater boy" style. Plus a little boy-bandish. (*laughs!*) Though I suppose the latter isn't too far from what Seth looks like. ;) But Seth wouldn't wear such a short T-shirt. The cap, perhaps. The snowboarding pants that're baggy and have pockets, maaaaaybe he'd wear them. The middle Seth is what I dub "Rambo Seth." (*laughs!*) Just a little extension of imagination on my part, picturing him as much older, grittier, and a little harder (though not so hard that he loses that smooth-faced look. 'Cause drawing a Seth with a five o'clock shadow is too much even for me ;) ). No way will I use this Seth. This is just for experimentation. I can't say I'm pleased with how I drew these, because there are many faults that need correcting (the postures, the arms, the hands, the legs, the feet, etc.). This was done rather slip-shoddy, so I'll have to put more effort into drawing next time. All for now. Oh, but here's a sneak peek panel for your viewing pleasure:
