Injokes
Arranged alphabetically for your convenience. Aren't I considerate?
Boris
Strips mentioning Boris and Natasha refer to the characters that adorned The Badger Herald's comic page in the Fall of 1999. Boris is the Nihilistic Comix Editor, making quotes with a deadpan expressions, while Natasha is his intern. Actually, you know that last strip in Fall 1999's Out Of The Box section? It had a photocopied clipping of Natasha in the original copy. Davy was very helpful in that he placed the actual clip-art over the grey Natasha in the published version, so that it looked better. Nowadays Boris has been replaced by Rocky the Raccoon.
Joe
Joe came about after a request from a real-life friend to draw him into the strip, "it doesn't matter what I do or say, you can make fun of me." So I did. :) Remember, this comic Joe is an exaggerated parody, no connection to the real-life model (except for the looks and name and the Grateful Dead thing, of course). During early Spring 2000, I was a bit hesitant to use comic-Joe, since I didn't know if I still had carte blanche to do so, but the real Joe has assured me that I'm free to do anything with comic-Joe, so yay for us! Now I get to parody comic-Joe to bits. ;)

Non Compos
All mentions of Brad, Ryan, and Non Compos refer to the comic strip
Non Compos by Brad Manker, previously published in the Daily Cardinal. Crossovers and guest stars involving Brad's characters have been fun, so thank you, Brad! His comic strip isn't running anymore, but you can always visit his website for the archives. And on April 2, 2001, he sent me this -- isn't he a great guy? :D

Toast
All references to Toast are of character from the White Bread And Toast comic strip, also published by The Badger Herald. I didn't gain permission from Mike Berg to speak of his characters in my strip at the time, but when I finally did meet him he told me he really liked them, so hooray!
