Where the Jupiter cast goes wild (and the artist tries to get a word in edgewise)

Monday, July 21, 2008   #   Partial inking of Jupiter

Showing partial inking process of a Jupiter page — partial ‘cause I had to use one hand to hold the camera up, and at some point it got really tired. Sorry!

I’m not sure if I’d consider this representative of how I do it. It’s not my usual process in the sense that I was only able to use one hand, and was regularly distracted by having to make sure the camera captured everything (which led to some fudges on the brush). This should give you a rough idea, though.

Wednesday, April 02, 2008   #   GAM's 5th anniversary

Hey you Girlamatic readers! You probably already know by now that it’s GAM‘s 5th anniversary, and that GAMmers are taking part in the birthday card contest all week. So go check out their stuff, then vote on your favorites!

(Also, here’s a reminder for you to check out this month’s GAM splash page. It is so cute! Drawn by the delectable KT.)

For Jupiter readers, no, I’m not taking part in the contest, but look! Jupiter’s made an appearance in Traci’s Compass and Laura’s Five Star! Actually, those two fine ladies have depicted all GAM characters in their cards. It’s astounding! Go check ‘em out!

Wednesday, December 26, 2007   #   Celebrating Traci!

In case you missed it, I posted awesome Jupiter fan-art by the amazingly talented Traci Spencer, so go see the awesomeness!

I got all giggly over this one, because she actually sent me the originals of these watercolors. It was such a wonderful surprise in my mailbox! I tell you, they’re gorgeous — my scanner doesn’t do them justice at all!

Speaking of Traci, this is definitely the month to celebrate her goodness. A whole bunch of folks got together to contribute written and illustrated art based on her comic Compass. We wrote and drew stuff to accompany her favorite song, Breathe by Moist. Cheers to Joanna Estep for organizing it and putting this together!

She made them all into a book to give to Traci. Here’re some of her photos: one potato, two potato, three potato, four, baked potatoes and all.

Saturday, December 22, 2007   #   Compass: A Holiday Interlude, conclusion!

Also, tune in on Tuesday for a special surprise that the Awesome McAwesome Traci gave me. Hee. It's got me squealing.

Happy solstice, all!

Tuesday, December 18, 2007   #   Jupiter: The Legend of Salty Bob -- conclusion!

Aaaaaaaand Jupiter: The Legend of Salty Bob concludes today, with a lovely twist! A feel-good kind of twist, that is. Did you see that coming? It just felt right.

Go read! Or check out the whole story in its permalink here.

And yes, with this I’ll be taking a break of unspecified length in order to get ready for my inter-country move this coming spring. As you can imagine, there’s a whole lot of packing and moving and finding a place to stay, that kind of thing, so I’m going to need all the help and focus I can get! Upping and heaving all one’s earthly belongings and hieing off to another land is . . . an adventure, to say the least.

Please feel free to say hi and keep me sane during the crazy months ahead. (*grin*)

I’ve actually just sold the complete original art set for both Li’l Lupus: Babysitting Blues and Jupiter: The Legend of Salty Bob, so whoo! Less to pack! If you want to see what other original Jupiter pages are still up for grabs, go here. I haven’t gotten around to scanning the original Trent: Sometimes I Dream set yet, but if you’re interested in any particular page, contact me and I’ll scan it in for your perusal.

And now I collapse into a heap on the floor. Love you, readers! XOXOXO!

Tuesday, December 04, 2007   #   Jupiter: "Off to see the Wizard. . . . "

Yeah, I wondered why they call it the Emerald City, too.

New Jupiter: The Legend of Salty Bob, so go read!

It’s occurred to me that Trent randomly breaks out into song quite a bit in Jupiter. I mean, not just in this Legend of Salty Bob, but back when he was hanging upside-down, too. Granted, in the latter incident he was feeling veeeeeeery loopy, but my. Who’d‘ve thought sharp-tongued Trent was so musical at heart?

I’ll have him singing “Hello Dolly” before you know it. Just you wait.
